Student Services > Rental Guide
We realise that moving to a new home or even a new city can be a very daunting experience and for many this will be their first time living away from the comforts of home. In this section we will give you a brief overview of renting a student room/property and how you go about getting a property that is right for you.
All of our properties are located within a mile or so radius of the University of Plymouth, College of Art & Marjons. Most of the properties are on a main bus route making other colleges easily accessible.
If you are moving to the area as a first year student then you will probably be looking later in the year so we will have a selection of studio apartments for those wishing to start out on their own. For those wishing to share, we have a wide selection - anything from a one bedroom apartment which is great for singles or couples up to nine bedroom houses! Obviously we realise that everyone is individual and we always do our best to ensure you get the accommodation most suited to your needs.
Initially we suggest that you have a look through the website and get an idea of the properties and consider what sort of accommodation you think would suit you. We do realise that you may not know the area and sometimes it can all become a bit overwhelming and that`s where our helpful staff are on hand to help.
Once you have some idea (or even if you don`t!) of what type of accommodation you require, you can either email the office or telephone to make an appointment to view. Have a good chat through the type of property you are looking for and we will do our best to point you in the right direction and find you the property best suited to you. Please note that we will need to give the current tenants 24 hours notice prior to the viewing so if you are travelling please bear this in mind. Click here to book your viewing.
I HAVE FOUND THE PROPERTY I WANT - WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
Once you have found the accommodation that is right for you then you will need to come into the office to reserve it. You will need to complete an application form and pay the administration fee. This is fee is non refundable. For full details please ask a member of the team or you can view our booking conditions here.
When you sign the Tenancy Agreement, you will need to pay your deposit. This will be registered under the Tenancy Deposit Scheme for the duration of your tenancy and we will of course run through this with you at the same time as signing your agreement.
ITS THAT SIMPLE!
We want your property search to be as simple as possible and that is why we are always on hand to answer any of your questions. Please contact the office at any time and we will be happy to deal with any queries or questions you may have.
